order in form
- chaos in colour
& the perspective in between
My work explores the relationship between geometry, colour and emotional experience. Influenced by my background as an architect, I am drawn to structure, proportion and the ability of simple forms to communicate complex ideas.
For more than twenty years, a single geometric form has remained a constant point of reference in my life. Its simplicity continues to shape my architectural and artistic practice, providing a framework through which I explore perspective, resilience and the ways we navigate uncertainty.
At the heart of each piece is a dialogue between order and chaos.
The geometric form creates structure and containment, while the vibrant, expressive fields of colour surrounding it act as a channel for emotion, energy and lived experience. No two paintings are the same because no two days are the same. Each work is shaped by the mood, perspective and emotional landscape present in the moment it is created.
The colour and movement within the paintings reflect uncertainty. They capture fleeting emotional states that are often difficult to articulate through words alone. Through creative expression and therapeutic reflection, I became fascinated by the relationship between colour, emotion and memory. Colour evolved into an emotional language, while geometric form became a place of grounding; a constant presence amidst change.
My practice emerged from a desire to find clarity within complexity.
Drawing from both architectural thinking and personal set backs and life experiences, my work seeks to translate internal landscapes into visual form. Each piece is an exploration of perspective, asking how we find balance when life feels fragmented and how simple acts of reflection can transform our understanding of difficult experiences.
While deeply personal in origin, the work is intended to be understood universally. I hope these paintings create space for viewers to pause, reflect and bring their own experiences to the work.
At its core, my practice is an exploration of finding moments of stability within uncertainty, and discovering that even within life's chaos, we have the perspective to see structure, strength, meaning and hope.
